The Ozark Cave Diving Alliance

Alexander Cave 2006

Recently we had the opportunity to explore Alexander Cave. Located on private property this system is one of the most highly decorated caves in the state of Arkansas. After diving Saturday we left our dive gear in the truck and headed underground to see what the cave system had to offer. This beautiful cave system is truly unique with amazing sights everywhere.

The dry cave entrance is on the side of a steep ridge.

The small gated entrance covers a deep crevice.

Shannon starts to chimney downwards.

It's about 30' down there.

Looking up as Brian descends to the bottom of the chimney area.

The cave is one of the more beautifully decorated caves in Arkansas.

This is also a large cave system.

Lots of ups and downs, constant momentum helps here.

How does he stay so clean?

Shannon enjoys the view from his perch.

There are nice formations everywhere.

The scope of nature in here is incredible.

Where's a big flash when you need it?

R.C. and Shannon admire the Ships Prow area.

Brian sizes up the formation.

It's a large formation with a layered appearance.

Small cameras don't do this system justice.

Icing on the cake.

Just about every kind of formation is in here.

We meet and greet some MOLES members as we near the cave entrance.
